I thought it was more a tropical, west African plant. In any event, African-inspired secondary worlds are not that much easier to come by than American ones, though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3967806610957360397.post-70746401531464974552011-08-29T19:40:03.304-07:002011-08-29T19:40:03.304-07:00Kendra- I'm very glad it was a good group expe...Kendra- I'm very glad it was a good group experience for you. It's very important to me (and, I'm pretty sure, to Stina) that the students feel the experience was valuable.

jheaton- No, but one of the other panelists did remind me of its African origins (a fact that had once been in my brain and left), and how it was one of the things eaten in ancient Egypt.Marshall Ryan Marescahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06259367667777920728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3967806610957360397.post-24792176013680039972011-08-29T13:00:21.541-07:002011-08-29T13:00:21.541-07:00Was anyone in the audience for the food panel able...Was anyone in the audience for the food panel able to identify a secondary-world fantasy work that features okra?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3967806610957360397.post-68120887588638995212011-08-29T10:33:51.824-07:002011-08-29T10:33:51.824-07:00I'm so upset that I missed the food panel! Food, science fiction, and okra! Three of my favorite things! BIG fan of Kimberly Frost, as well.

Anyway, so glad to have met you at the con - even more so that I was in your workshop group. What a fantastic experience! Thank you so much! :DKendra Marevahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15632083876800892636noreply@blogger.com
